Worlds within Worlds: A Quiz using HTML Code

This project is an HTML Quiz designed for students ages 13-15. It focuses on information from NASA's ScienceCast video "Worlds with Worlds." Information on the quiz corresponds to three different learning outcomes. They include:

     1) Evaluate NASA's probe and satellite missions
     2) Evaluate the effects a parent star has on its planets
     3) Compare fundamental characteristics of various stars and planets

The most important aspect of the project was incorporating relevant and accurate feedback for each question. Upon choosing an answer, students see a green check mark on the correct answer and a red "X" if their chosen response is incorrect. Students also receive feedback from the progress bar at the top which illustrates progress, as well as indicates which questions were answered correctly by filling the bar with moon icons. For  content-driven feedback, students are provided with information that supports the correct answer. The quiz functions in both wide window and mobile window formats. When the window size changes, so does the quiz. Executing this change required lots of experimentation with the code in order to make sure answer boxes displayed possible answers correctly. The video below illustrates the functions of the quiz.
The quiz was created using the Brackets application and the video was created using ScreenFlow. Images within the quiz, used for possible answers and for the progress bar, were edited from NASA public domain images using Adobe PhotoShop. The quiz's background was created using a combination of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe PhotoShop.
